Career Evolution series

The FOCUS Multi-Session Career Evolution Series (FOCUS CES) is designed to promote strategic career decision making and professional success across career stages (early, mid and later stage of career). The unique challenges faced in each career stage are addressed to facilitate a process whereby faculty may continue to grow and evolve.

The FOCUS CES provides a structured curriculum including in-class and homework exercises that create a process for faculty to:

1) develop proactive approaches to crafting a career/life plan in academic medicine aligned with their talents and values resulting in a path that reinvigorates them;

2) utilize a network of senior faculty and peers who can serve as resources and mentors, and who create a sense of community; and

3) gain a sense of autonomy over their careers/lives.

  • Using the Past to Inform the Future: Taking a Proactive Approach to the Opportunities of Mid-Career - 8-faculty cohort series curriculum and facilitation by Lucy W. Tuton, PhD and Stephanie Abbuhl, MD - 4 sessions
